	Crooked Man – CUNTS
Sheffield producer Richard Barratt, recording as Crooked Man, releases “CUNTS”, a cover of Jarvis Cocker’s “Running the World” from the “Children of Men” soundtrack. Barratt retitled the track to something more direct for what he calls “blunt times”. The single comes ahead of his album “Crooked Stile”, out January 16th via Damian Harris’s Vicious Charm Recordings.
Barratt is best known as one half of Sweet Exorcist alongside Cabaret Voltaire founder Richard H. Kirk. Sweet Exorcist pioneered the bleep techno sound closely associated with Warp Records and released the label’s first CD in 1991. He also records as DJ Parrot.
Collage artist Dominic McGill directed the video for “CUNTS”. The album includes Barratt’s recent cover of “Don’t Leave Me This Way” alongside the new Cocker cover. Barratt strips away any subtlety from Cocker’s original, matching the confrontational energy of the current moment.
